Mesa Middle School Music Department: Celebrating Achievement and Building for the Future
¡La música nos une!

At Mesa Middle School, we are incredibly proud of our Music Department’s accomplishments during the 2024–2025 school year—and even more excited about the continued growth and excellence we look forward to in 2025–2026.

Over the past year, our Band, Choir, and Orchestra students have showcased extraordinary talent, commitment, and passion. Under the leadership of Dr. Flores (Band), Mrs. Woodland (Orchestra), and Ms. Carlock (Choir), our music students earned numerous awards and recognitions at competitions and events across the state. Their performances not only brought home trophies, but also inspired our campus and community.

These achievements reflect more than talent—they are the result of countless hours of practice, strong leadership, and a shared commitment to musical excellence.

As we move into the 2025–2026 school year, our music program continues to grow—welcoming new students, exploring new repertoire, and expanding opportunities for performance and collaboration. Our focus remains clear: to empower students to reach new heights in both music and academics.

Music education is a vital part of our students’ development. It enhances reading, math, and critical thinking skills, builds confidence, encourages creativity, and strengthens collaboration. Most importantly, it fosters a sense of belonging and purpose. At Mesa, music is not just an elective—it’s a core part of who we are.

We are especially proud of how our music program reflects the cultural richness and diversity of our school community. From classical pieces to contemporary works inspired by global traditions—including vibrant influences from our Hispanic and multicultural families—our students are learning to honor and celebrate the world through music.

As we reflect on a year of success and look ahead to a year of opportunity, we remain committed to nurturing a music program where every student can thrive, express themselves, and shine.

Bravo y felicidades to our incredible music students for their 2024–2025 achievements—and here's to an even more inspiring 2025–2026 school year!
¡Sigan tocando, cantando y soñando en grande!
Keep playing, singing, and dreaming big!
